• Look around the house for anything that could be a fire hazard and take steps to make it safe. Encourage the rest of the family to get involved so that no hazard is overlooked.
• Plan and rehearse an escape plan in case of fire. Be sure children understand the plan and agree on a place to meet outside when everyone gets out.
